Origin & History
Years before the coming of blogs, in 1992, a New York sportswriter named William N. Wallace created a weekly column for an internet financial news service belonging to the Knight Ridder news group. This in turn became a feature of the succeeding Bridge Financial News Service which, however, was discontinued after September 9, 2001. Bill Wallace continued to write this sports column and in time created a four-pronged blog which we have here. Wallace wrote about a variety of sports for New York newspapers for half a century … the last 35 years for the Times before retirement in 1999.
